It spreads like noos (Noos#2)

The work "it spreads like noos" is an associative installation that focuses on the indeterminate perception that has become an object of thought. The inner space spreads over minimal set gestures of architecture and the physical reality of the public space. The installation asks for an interior / exterior in the sense of making public and visible vs. the domestic life. Like an unambiguously identifiable parasite, the space is occupied by objects made of steel wool. The resulting metaphor of the rhizome represents the manipulation of the hierarchical space. Produced in the course of the exhibition Über Gänge (Passage ways - Excursion to a presented city) of the esc medien kunstlabor Graz: "The exhibition combines works of various formats with the theme "inside". From the cell of the laboratory, which is itself permeable, we question the organism into which it is embedded. In the spring of 2014, new works will be created which will react to the special situation in the laboratory and the reality in the city of Graz by means of diverse and multi-layered strategies and are connected with actions outside the city. In the space, memories are stored, reflexes, fragments, and relics of the movements which and take place in the city and which can change the city and create "new relations" (Foucault) in it." Die Arbeit "it spreads like noos"  ist eine assoziative Installation, die das zum Denkgegenstand gewordene unbestimmte Innewerden thematisiert. Der innere Raum breitet sich über minimal gesetzte Gesten auf die Architektur und die physische Realität des öffentlichen Raumes aus. Die Installation fragt nach einem Innen/Außen im Sinn von öffentlich und sichtbar machen vs. dem häuslichen bzw. Innenleben. Wie ein nicht eindeutig identifizierbarer Parasit, der sich einnistet, wird der Raum von Objekten aus Stahlwolle in Besitz genommen. Die dabei entstandene Metapher des Rhizoms steht für die Manipulation des hierarchischen Raumes.  Produziert im Rahmen der Ausstellung Über Gänge - Exkursionen in eine vorgestellte Stadt des esc medien kunst labor Graz: „Die Ausstellung vereint Arbeiten verschiedenster Formate zum Themenfeld Innen-Außen. Von der Zelle des Laborraumes aus - die selbst durchlässig ist - befragen wir den Organismus, in den sie eingebettet ist, die Stadt. Im Frühjahr 2014 entstehen neue Arbeiten, die mit vielfältigen und vielschichtigen Strategien auf die besondere Situation im Labor und die Realität in der Stadt Graz reagieren und mit Aktionen draußen in der Stadt verbunden sind. Im Raum werden Erinnerungen gespeichert, Reflexe, Fragmente, Relikte der Bewegungen, die in der Stadt stattfanden und die die Stadt verändern und in ihr “neue Relationen” (Foucault) schaffen können.“ (esc medien kunst labor Graz 2014)
