Feston: how do we deal with these unidentifiable fragments?

Feston (french. Garland) is an ornament widely used in almost all genres of art. The textile elements, which are geometric shapes, are minimal set gestures which are hung on ropes from the building facade to the mountain. The Arwork „Feston: how do we deal with these unidentifiable fragments?“ was a temporary installation at the Rüfikopf cable car station in Lech. Like many small irregular pennants on a garland - the textile geometric fragments create a certain rhythm and elude a simple definition. Immediately we are confronted with their indefinable function. In view of all the discarded or unfinished works of art, (also in the music of Strauss), i.e., works that have remained only fragmented or were located in the context of the even, the fragments bundle the metaphor of the parts of the forefront of pop-cultural events and their punctuation.

Feston (franz. Girlande) ist in nahezu allen Kunstgattungen verbreitetes Ornament. Als solches können auch die textilen geometrischen Formen verstanden werden, die sich als minimal gesetzte Gesten wie viele kleine unregelmäßige Wimpel an einer Girlande von hier nach dort ziehen. Die Arbeit „Feston: how do we deal with these unidentifiable fragments?“ ist eine temporäre Installation an der Seilbahnstation des Rüfikopf bei Lech. Unterschiedliche Fragmente spannen sich an Seilen von Gebäudefassade zum Berg. Girlanden widersetzen sich einem bestimmten Rhythmus und entziehen sich einer einfachen Definition. In erster Linie ist ihre unbestimmbare Funktion auffällig. Im Hinblick auf all die verworfenen oder nicht fertiggestellten Werke der Kunst (auch in der Musik von Strauss), Werke also, die Fragment geblieben sind oder an sich im Kontext des Ereignisses erst zum Fragment werden, bündelt die Metapher des Fragments die Rezeption popkultureller Veranstaltungen und ihrer Zeichensetzung.
